Psyching up!

MUST DESTROY. MUST DESTROY. MUST DESTROY.

It's pre-tournament night and I'm getting into the mood to scold and criticize! (I turn into a monster unlike myself overnight)
I'm so excited! Yet anxious. Yet nervous. But more excited!

Anyone wants to go shopping after that? I'm looking for a new bag. Non-crumpler.

  1. Hiii, I'm just passing by, I was searching for a preview/demo/mp3 of Jaakobin Pojat and your journal happened to pop up in Google. Searching for an mp3 of Jaakobin Pojat is proving to be a wearisome task that yields little or no results - the only information I have gained is that it was performed by the Adolf Fredriks Girls' Choir in 1995 - and the only way to get hold of the track is to buy their album. (Thought you might've liked to know that.)Which I have a gut feeling is not available in Singapore, because Singapore only sells choppy, mainstream music haha. And yes, to answer the questions that are running through your mind now: Yes, our choir is preparing for SYF just like yours, and well, I decided to leave a comment because I thought it was pretty awesome to read someone's entries written out in grammatically correct English for a change (which is a rarity these days) and what more! - someone who (finally) appreciates chorale music.
Thank God for people like you. (:

  2. Hola! :)
Thanks for the heads-up! In case you're still looking for a clip of Jaakobin Pojat, there's one of the SATB version at Musica.net. (Basically, it's choral music Mecca.) I don't like the dynamics starting from the 5/4 timing though because the choir wasn't 'playing' with the sound which was crucial to the piece I guess.

There's a clip by the Brooklyn Youth Choir here though much of the sliding parts for the whole choir's cut off. But by far I think one of the better ones were performed by the NYGHS choir. (if you had the chance to attend their concert last year that would have been great).

Anyway, all the best for SYF! If it doesn't bother you revealing your school, do you happen to be performing Jaakobin Pojat as well? :D
